Dating in the 21st century. Do we even know what dating is anymore? Social media has taken over and everyone knows your business before you even have chance to find out yourself. If you like someone or you break up. The keyboard warriors are at the ready to give you their opinion. Just feeling like screaming into a pillow and just locking myself away in my room with Netflix, as lets be honest Netflix has never let me down.

We get attached too quickly. Why do we always put a timeline on how long it should be before you tell a guy or girl that you like them? More than 99% of time one always likes the other more than the other.

In my case i seem to have always liked guys who just want a bit of fun. In the 21st century gay men don't seem to want to settle down and always want 'fun'. Like what is the whole thing with fun? Yes when in university of course you have a little fun, get too drunk end up in bed with someone you'd rather forget. But the older i seem to be getting the more i wish there was someone who wants the same as me.

My generation seem to want to date someone, but don't want any of the commitments that comes with it. I saw a post on Instagram a while back and it just made complete sense.

Just why? Why cant our generation just date like our grandparents or even how our parents used to date? I like the idea of meeting a guy, getting to know each other and then heading out on a date. And no i don't mean going to cinema and watching the latest horror or marvel movie. I mean going for a coffee or some lunch, where you can really get to know how much you have in common and see if there is that initial spark.

I always think to myself, Is it just me? Am i the only only going through this? Or has my generation become so involved in social media and dating apps such as Grindr and Tinder, that we have forgotten how date. I don't know maybe it is just me.

So lets get back out there. Meet new people. See where things take you. Never regretting any decisions and living life to the best that we can. Or is it just me?
